'That's Amore' Italian Film Festival To Feature Double Bill of Italian-Themed Films Every Thursday In August

BETHPAGE, N.Y.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--July 26, 1999-- From the fragrant, lush countryside to charming cafes lining cobblestone streets, Romance Classics invites viewers to enjoy life as it should be this August, with ``That's Amore!,'' an Italian Film Festival hosted by actor Antonio Sabato, Jr. Every Thursday night beginning August 5, Sabato Jr., a native of Rome, will introduce a double bill of Italian-themed films while engaging viewers with his insight into the charms of Italy, its traditions, food, customs and culture. The film line-up is as follows:

August 5 Summertime (1955) Katharine Hepburn & Rossano Brazzi Hepburn stars as a middle-aged midwestern spinster on tour in Venice who discovers romance with a married shop-owner played by Brazzi. (8:00 p.m., eastern)

Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone (1961) Warren Beatty & Vivien Leigh Vivian Leigh plays an aging actress determined to revive her career in Rome but finds romance with a gigolo (Beatty) instead, in this adaptation of Tennessee William's novella. (9:45 p.m., eastern)

August 12 Roman Holiday (1953) Audrey Hepburn & Gregory Peck Hepburn stars as a princess, yearning for a normal life, who runs away from her palace and has a romance with reporter Peck. (8:00 p.m., eastern)

Indiscretion of An American Wife (1954) Jennifer Jones & Montgomery Clift Set almost entirely in Rome's famous Terminal Station, where an ill-fated couple say goodbye endlessly while the woman tries to decide whether to join her husband in the States. (10:00 p.m., eastern).

August 19 Gidget Goes to Rome (1963) Cindy Carol & James Darren Darren returns in his third outing as boyfriend ``Moondoggie'' to Cindy Carol as ``Gidget'' as the two vacation in Rome and find themselves tempted by other romances. (8:00 p.m., eastern)

An Australian in Rome (1987) Nicole Kidman & Massimo Ciavarro A Romance Classics premiere film starring Nicole Kidman, an adventure of the heart in which she must choose between life with two Italian brothers and a return to her home down under. (9:45 p.m., eastern)

August 26 Rome Adventure (1962) Troy Donahue & Suzanne Pleshette Spinster librarian Pleshette takes a Roman vacation hoping to meet a handsome prince. Donahue takes a shine to her while girlfriend Dickinson is away, as does suave Roman Brazzi. (8:00 p.m., eastern)

Three Coins in the Fountain (1954) Clifton Webb & Dorothy McGuire. Three women make wishes for romance at the Fountain of Trevi, spurring several amorous adventures. (10:00 p.m., eastern)
