Hunt Wins Fourth Straight Actress Emmy

(LOS ANGELES) -- Helen Hunt has won her fourth straight best comedy actress Emmy for "Mad About You" and John Lithgow wins as top comedy actor for "3rd Rock from the Sun." Hunt tied a record for consecutive wins set in 1988 by John Larroquette for "Night Court." Kristen Johnston, also from "Third Rock" was named best supporting actress in a comedy while David Hyde Pierce won supporting actor honors for "Frasier." It was a big night for writer-producer David E. Kelley. His "Ally McBeal" unseated "Frasier" as best comedy. And his other series, "The Practice" was named best drama for the second year in a row. Edie Falco was named best dramatic actress in "The Sopranos." The HBO series had been nominated for 16 prizes and took home two. Dennis Franz won his fourth best actor Emmy for "NYPD Blue."
