Hollywood Stars to Join Countdown to Gershwin Centennial; Celebration at Harrah's Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Hollywood comes to Las Vegas Friday night August 28 as Harrah's Casinos celebrates the 100th birthday anniversary of the great American composer George Gershwin.

Kathy Kinney (Mimi on ``The Drew Carey Show''-ABC), Christopher McDonald (Bryce on ``Veronica's Closet''-NBC), Rocky Carroll (Dr. Keith Wilkes on ``Chicago Hope''-CBS) and Gil Bellows (Billy on ``Ally McBeal''-FOX) will be among the stars attending the Gershwin tribute at Harrah's Las Vegas as singers Linda Ronstadt, Rosemary Clooney and Michael Feinstein -- America's premier interpreters of Gershwin -- perform together on stage for the first time. Bellows, Carroll and McDonald are sharing the once-in-a-lifetime evening with the most important women in their lives -- their moms.

Also expected at the Gershwin Centennial celebration are ``Melrose Place'''s Jamie Luner, ``Baywatch'''s Michael Bergin and the show's new lifeguard Brooke Burns, Jerry O'Connell and Charlie O'Connell of the SciFi Channel's ``Sliders,'' ``Tonight Show'' favorite Ed McMahon and the glamorous Connie Stevens.

Joining the stars and performers at a backstage reception following the concert are the 15 winners of the Harrah's Biggest Nights Dream Tour, a nationwide sweepstakes contest sponsored by Harrah's that attracted more than 2 million entries. The star-studded evening culminates a whirlwind week for the Dream Tour winners who traveled to Atlantic City, Lake Tahoe and Las Vegas on the ultimate casino vacation.
