Synopsis:

Ally analyzed the image staring opposite her and doesn't recognize the waifish egocentric staring back at her. She screams! Who is it, Norman Bates' mother? Renee must wonder. Alas it's a wrinkle, everyone run for shelter, Ally's twenty-ninth birthday approacheth.

Renee has her own worries she's preparing to go up against that shifty little Biscuit in a murder trial, and she's concerned that his elaborate stunts will once again get him the victory. John and Ally's client, Albert Shipley allegedly murdered his wife by cutting off her hand. However it seems, like the hand was severed after his wife died of a heart attack, how sweet, he wanted something to remember her by. Dr. Joyce Brothers testifies that psychotic behavior was triggered in Albert due to the tremendous loss of love. No kidding.

Fish RBI: Just as Richard tires of waiting for Ling to have sex, she reels him right back in by licking his finger suggestively, and allowing a little wattle grope. Self-appointed man expert Elaine warns Ling that she shouldn't expect Fish to stay tied to that string she's leading him on forever.

The second case involves Ross Fineman, the victim of a nasty comb-over that cost the man his job, the tricky part is that he thinks the firing came courtesy of ageism. Even Georgia confesses to Billy that the guy is hard to look in the eye. The boss' (Courte) Lawyer Michael Stone says that a comb-over gives the appearance of a fraud, someone like that can't be trusted. As opposed to the law profession in general. In an absurd twist, Judge Walsh allows a spectacle to take place as Ross' hair is unraveled into a two foot long tail. Fineman agrees to a haircut (courtesy Ling, a true renaissance woman), devastated to learn that everyone knew he was in hiding, and gets his job back.

Back to the morbidly romantic, not to be outdone by the competition Renee fires up a power saw and asks the accused if that's what he used on his wife. On a slightly more pleasant note, John mentions to Ally that he will soon turn thirty-five and kisses his colleague, he immediately apologizes, takes back the apology and then leaves. Uh-huh. Ally tells Renee (she scoffs) that Shipley did it all for love, so maybe he took every Bryan Adam's lyric ever written a little too far, the jury sides with the mixed-up theory.

As for Richard's batting status, he at least receives some encouraging news when girlfriend Ling states that she is so gooood in bed that after they make love, that is all he will ever want.

Elaine gets her way and a twin birthday celebration is held at the ubiquitous bar for Ally and The Biscuit. Fish drives Ling crazy with desire as he strokes her previously over-looked knee pit. The Biscuit gets a the highlight of his life from Nelle (girlfriend?), a performance by the velvet on the rocks throat of Barry White.
