Episode Review:

Synopsis:

The episodes are dwindling away so genius move to have Calista make a mere cameo.

As mentioned Ally stuck around long enough to approve another newbie, this one Wilson (brought in by Liza) and then she jetted off to Bermuda with Victor.

Clearly there was an inkling that this would be the last season, weren’t you a little annoyed that some precious final minutes were handed over to characters who don’t matter?

Back to newbie Wilson played by Bobby Cannavale tapping into the roguish charm that made him so smashing on 100 Center St. His impossible case du jour was a wife suing her husband for sexual harassment. The guy had a penchant for naming certain parts of his anatomy after McDonald’s sandwiches so yes, he was somewhat pervey. Anyway Wilson played bad cop (blackmail) to Nelle’s good cop (understanding flirt) until they reached a settlement of $225,000. Oh, and about pervey people, Claire was on top of the uni-sex stalls trying to catch a glimpse of Wilson.

There’s definite chemistry between Wilson and Nelle, would you like to see him be her happily ever after?

Speaking of happily ever after, for me that would have to be seeing Christina Ricci back in intelligent Indies where she belongs. This week Liza and John decided that the best defense for bigamy is showing how silly it is, playing dueling idiots, interrupting each other etc., in the courtroom. This was all about how Heather Locklear is married to two men, flinging with a non-lesbian (Lara Flynn Boyle) and lastly sharing a mutual love of the mariachi with John. She was found guilty with no jail time but John decided she’s way outside his moral compass so they fizzled.

Do ever get the feeling that this show has turned into some sort of farm club for whatever FOX has in development? After all Cannavale’s (and isn’t he playing Raymond’s part?) show was just axed and Spin City is dangling off the cliff.

Oh yeah almost forgot, Liza found out that Nelle’s real name is Morgan, and Nelle found out that Liza’s real name is Debbie. Much taunting ensued, that’s the kind of episode it was.
